Exclusive interview with Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier about his thoughts on the current Dota 2 Scene

Hi to all you DotaTalk fans out there!!

Today I had the privilege to interview Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier and gain his perspective of the current Dota 2 Scene as we all know it. Enjoy the article and the knowledge insight that comes with it!

Hi Black^, Good to have you here with DotaTalk today. What can you tell us about yourself?

Hi all, my name is Dominik Reitmeier and i currently play DotA 2 in the team mousesports

Fantastic, thank you very much. Now recently you guys have been having some difficulty with your matches, mTw in specific, gave you alot of grief in the Dreamhack Vengeance Cup and also the Gosuleague. What are your thoughts on this?

yeah thats true, mTw (in my eyes) is the best dota 2 team in europe/na, simply because theyre very dedicated and tried very hard, im glad that their hard work paid off. Concerning us: we need more time to play together, it has only been a month so were still very satisfied with our results and you can expect much better player in the future.

No doubt, i believe mousesports has a bright future. Could you maybe comment on the current synergy as well as mental status of your team. Do you believe that this may have knocked your confidence down, or do you think maybe this will motivate you to play harder?

Losing so much against one team surely makes you think about your own skill and gameplay but that made us realize we have to work much much harder in order to become one of the best teams in europe. Thanks to mTw for opening our eyes!!:)

I like the positive thinking, shows character and maturity. As for your role in mouz, what are you most comfortable playing?

Black^: My best roles are the Hardcarry role and the Solorole, i like playing both so i dont really see a diffrence there

Hahaha I know your clinkz too well! And im pretty sure the community would agree! What are your thoughts on the current roster? Do you think this will be the most stable roster mouz has seen?

I cant predict the future but the team never talked about disbanding or quitting, so yeah i hope this will become the most stable roster mouz has ever seen=)

Seems to us that way too! Coming back to top teams, even though the European scene looks pretty darn strong, what do you think are the chances for the Chinese teams in particular nearing The International 2?

I always said and will still say, Top 3 at The International will consist of Chinese teams, their mindset and mentality is just far superior when you compare it to the european ones, also they spend much more time playing the game.

So if I understand you correctly, The International wont be won by only skill, but smarts and wits aswell? Lets say for instance the picking and banning stages? Or does it go deeper than just that?

Black^: The draft is very important in DotA 2 yes, but once Chinese team are settled in a game (let it be DotA or DotA 2) they always find the best strategies and the best ways to execute them, they make close to no mistakes either so its gonna be a hard task for the europeans to take them down

Sounds exactly what all the fans want to hear! Tell us what do you think about the new releases; Rubick, Guardian Wisp and Luna. Do you think they will have significant or no impact in the future Meta Game?

I honestly never played Rubick and Wisp myself, so i cant really comment on them, Luna however wont change the Metgame since its a very situational carry

Do you think that The International 2 will most likely end up in the East? Seeing as there are 9 teams out of the 16 that represent China, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia respectively?

Chinese teams will most likely come out on top against foreigners, so i expect a Top 3 consiting of nothing but chinese teams.

Fantastic, thanks alot for your insight and knowledge into the current happenings in Dota 2. Is there any shoutouts you would like to do before we conclude the interview?

Shoutout to my teammates, to NK and MT and also all of our supporters and fans! And a special shoutout to all of our sponsors: MEDION, GeIL, Intel, Razer, Thortech, CardCoaches.com, Sansibar
thanks for the support!!!

A very insightful interview with a very knowledgeable player. From all of us at DotaTalk, we wish Mousesports the best of luck in future tournaments!
